I’ve been privileged to be able to work with government and non-profit agencies in writing curriculum. Here are some of the projects I’ve worked on:
- Nystrom Education
- Victory Productions
- Northwest Evaluation Association
- Social Studies School Service
- Native American Storytelling
- Oklahoma Career Tech
I also have experience as an instructional designer in Oklahoma’s Career Technical Schools, where I have worked with both the trade and industrial and health areas.
What does an Instructional Designer do? An instructional designer assesses overall curriculum needs based on educational and/or industry standards. Goals and learning objectives are determined. Then an instructional designer works with teachers, subject matter experts, and others to develop instructional content, learning activities, assessments, and delivery methods. I do a lot of work with online learning, both converting existing content and creating new content for LMS’s. Always, the goal is to make learning engaging. An engaged learner is a successful learner.
